Fantastic Mr. Fox director, Wes Anderson, gave an unusual acceptance speech at the National Board of Review awards ceremony.
After being selected as the winner in the "Special Filmmaking Achievement" category, this video was played on the screen ----
Wes Anderson is a standout director in Hollywood - while some of his films might seem odd, he is simply a genius. From The Royal Tenenbaums to Rushmore and his latest feature, Fantastic Mr Fox, Anderson stuns his audiences with his ability to tell a story without so much dialogue. He has a knack for introducing characters, and scenes, by simply showing them to us - I really think this creates a great film, allowing the viewer to interpret the characters' actions and really sets up the story.
With his success, Anderson has been able to attach such stars as George Clooney, Gene Hackman, Luke & Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Bill Murray and Meryl Streep to his projects. Wes Anderson will continue to amaze us through his work for many years to come.
